He woke up before us one weekend morning, lifting himself above the headboard and raising the shutters all by himself (we never showed him how). When I awoke, I found him just peering out into the backyard, straight faced and silent, seeming to simply observe and absorb everything the view had to offer.
He’s like me in so many ways.
