Yes folks, there was a time when we were so proud of our toys that we would pose with them like they were trophies. Except for perhaps the privileged and well-to-do, Star Wars toys were a luxury usually received only for special occasions (birthdays, Christmas/Chanukah) or maybe as a prize for when one did really well on their exams, math tests or science project presentations.

Thanks to Growing Up Star Wars: 1977–1985, we get to relive these memories again and again.

I didn’t have them all, but I absolutely loved the ones I did, and wish I still had them. Yet, as I grew older they got tossed aside and eventually got buried under who knows what. The only one I have to this day is my Millennium Falcon which needs some TLC.
