25 Random Things About Me.
I have so many ideas; so many things I want to do.
I hope this blog will inspire me to pursue at least some of them.
I dwell a lot in the past.
Ask me anything about the modern world and perhaps I’ll yawn. But ask
me about the ’70s and ’80s and I’ll probably talk so much, eventually you’ll yawn.
I post stuff that I create here, thinking that one day maybe someone famous, or someone who really counts, will discover it and I’ll become a pop sensation.
At the same time, I dread the thought of that happening.
I really just get happy to receive a simple comment that something I did made them happy.
I’m the same way in the band I play in. If I see just one person dance to the music I’m playing, that makes my night.
I was raised with cats. I guess that makes me a “cat person.”
But if you ask me, I’m actually more of a “protozoan person.”
Single-celled microorganisms fascinate me.
I think a cool invention would be a giant magnifying lens, perhaps 3-4 feet in diameter, which focuses on and enlarges a single drop of pond water 40,000 times.
It would hang on my wall like a mirror. And I’d frame it like one too. An antique one.
I think I’d be able to see all kinds of protozoans to my heart’s content.
I also think I’d forget to feed my kid.
I wonder if single-celled organisms have any more thoughts, desires, hang-ups and heartaches than us million-celled ones.
Is it possible that they exist only to ingest, digest and excrete?
Do we not do the same?
I ask myself a lot of questions.
Then turn them into a “25 Random Things About Me” thing.
If you’ve read this far, perhaps you enjoy randomness as much as I do.
Or maybe you’re just bored at work.
Or both.
I have a kid who’s a lot like me.
The future’s so bright, I gotta ____ ______.
Just can’t get enough? Write to greg @ leftylimbo.com.
Hi Greg,
Thanks very much for the comment you left on the Kevin Long interview I posted on my blog recently.
I really enjoyed reading the interview link you sent along about your younger days in the LA scene. In fact I was hoping to interview you at some point about your comic book and your experiences playing drums in Hepcat.
Let me know if you are up for it and I’ll send some questions along.
Thanks,
Marc
